MyChoice Discloses the Top 10 Car Models Involved in Accidents in Ontario in 2023
In a concerning trend highlighted by the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), the province witnessed a significant rise in car accident fatalities and collisions in 2022. There were 359 fatalities reported in 2022, a stark increase from the 315 reported in 2021. Moreover, the year 2022 saw a 20% surge in collisions, escalating from 60,659 in 2021 to 74,172. Based on a comprehensive study with a sample size of 2,176 recorded accidents, the top ten car models associated with the highest number of accidents in Ontario this year are:

- Toyota Corolla LE 4DR – accounting for 2.05% of all accidents
- Dodge Grand Caravan SE – involved in 2.02% of all accidents
- BMW 328i xDrive 4DR AWD – with a 1.89% accident rate
- Mercedes C300W 4MATIC 4DR – at 1.41% of all accidents
- Ford Mustang 2DR – involved in 1.20% of all accidents
- Tesla Model 3 Standard Range Plus 50 4DR – accounting for 1.16% of all accidents
- Volkswagen GTI 2.0 TSI 4DR Hatchback – involved in 1.10% of all accidents
- Ford F150 XLT Supercrew 4WD – with a 1.07% accident rate
- Tesla Model Y 75D Long Range 4DR AWD – at 1.02% of all accidents
